Next, connect your fitness tracker to the Health App
All fitness trackers not listed above that have a standalone provider app can be connected to the respective Health Apps via their provider app and thus participate using their smartphone or the corresponding Health App.

To find out how to connect a fitness tracker to the Health App, it’s best to do a quick Google search. You can find the necessary information on the websites of the respective Health App providers and your fitness tracker manufacturer.

Here is a general guide on how to connect Health Apps to your fitness tracker:

Connecting fitness trackers to your Health App

Step 1: Install and set up your provider app on your smartphone according to the user manual.
Step 2: Connect with Apple Health.
Apple Health is compatible with accessories from various manufacturers.

To allow an app to share data with Apple Health, you need to connect it to Apple Health. The exact procedure varies from app to app, but generally, the following steps are required:

  • Open the desired app of your fitness tracker.
  • Go to the "Settings" menu.
  • Find the option to connect other apps and devices. Depending on the app, it may be called "Link other services," "Apps and devices," "Partner accounts," or "Manage connections."
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the app to Apple Health.
  • In the Apple Health app, under "Sources," you can define data sharing and specify which app can read and transmit which data.

Step 3: Manually prioritize the installed app ranking in the Health App – the newly connected app must be in the first position in your Health App; otherwise, not all steps will be recorded correctly.

Data connection and step transfer

“Unknown error”
The error message "Unknown error" is only displayed when entering the PIN if there is no internet connection. Please establish an internet connection and try again.

  • Fitness trackers count steps using so-called moves, meaning movements of the hand on which you wear the tracker.
  • Your smartphone measures steps using a type of vibration sensor.

With your smartphone, as long as the Dasfitnesswunder app and your Health app are running in the background.

With a fitness tracker, you sync the steps from your fitness tracker to your provider's app. From there, the steps are automatically transferred to us.

Notes:

  • There may occasionally be "traffic jams" in data transfer, so don't worry if the steps don’t appear "just in time"—sometimes it takes a while.
  • In some cases, your provider may experience a technical delay or a temporary issue. Don’t worry and do not delete the apps under any circumstances. No steps will be lost, even if they appear later.
  • If no steps are being recorded, close (but do not delete!) both the Health app and the Dasfitnesswunder app, then restart both apps—your steps should then be transferred.
  • Have you checked and ruled out all the points mentioned, but it still doesn't work? Then send us a message via the contact form. We will get back to you as soon as possible to resolve the issue.

  • If you have deleted the Dasfitnesswunder app, the connection to the challenge is deleted for data protection reasons. You can participate again by deleting your profile and registering anew.
  • You have disconnected the link to Dasfitnesswunder or Thryve and/or objected to data sharing. If you refuse to share your data, we will of course respect that. However, this means that no steps can be recorded for you.
  • You have set your personal settings to allow only yourself access to your data. In this case, you can, if you wish, extend your settings to include others. You can revert this setting after the challenge.
  • Are you registered with a GARMIN fitness tracker, but no steps are being recorded? With GARMIN, all data must be enabled in the settings; otherwise, Garmin will not send your step data. You can change this in the Garmin settings.

We are running a step challenge. Every opportunity for more movement and every step counts for the competition. Steps are counted based on the movement of the device. Whatever generates steps counts. Unfortunately, anything that does not generate steps does not count.

Participation and rules during the challenge

Go for it! You're doing this for YOURSELF, just join in – take part. Even though we've already started – we're not going anywhere.

Participation via Apple is only possible with the Apple Health app, which must be installed on the phone and set up.

Manually entered steps are not allowed!

Although steps can be manually entered in the profiles of fitness tracker providers as well as in health apps, these manually entered steps are not allowed for the Dasfitnesswunder challenge and will not be counted.

Anyone who manually enters steps will receive a yellow card with the first entry. A second entry will result in a second warning, and with a third manual entry, the participant will be disqualified and excluded from the challenge.

The only exception to manual step entries is for those granted by the company administrators and the organizer of the challenge.

Your Account

Your profile is for your "Self-Coaching." Here, you will receive a new movement tip every day, set personal goals, change your nickname, create a watchlist with your favorite colleagues, configure your info emails, and much more.

Yes! We only store the steps walked for each user and no other vital body data. For data protection reasons, we have chosen providers that operate their servers in Europe.

You can configure the emails sent to you during the challenge in your personal profile – under settings. Enabled email categories will be sent to you, while disabled ones will no longer be delivered.

You registered with the "wrong" device or no longer want to actively participate in the challenge? You can delete your account in the app under "Account" to remove it. All your data will be deleted from the servers.
